Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic-minded individual to join our team as the Senior Director of Philanthropic Strategy. In this role, you will lead a team of Regional Directors to grow KCCF revenue and develop comprehensive philanthropic strategies for our client base. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of philanthropy, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving growth and impact in the nonprofit sector. This position will be an employee of Knights of Columbus but will report to and be accountable to KCCF. This position can be based remotely with occasional travel as needed to meet with clients and team members.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to grow KCCF and maximize philanthropic impact.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the regional directors, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in philanthropy and incorporate them into our strategic initiatives.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families, and organizations to understand their philanthropic goals and needs.
    • Collaborate with clients to develop customized philanthropic strategies that align with their values, interests, and financial objectives.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expertise and guidance on philanthropic giving strategies and opportunities.
  • Team Management:
    • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of regional directors, providing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities as needed.
    • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, and track progress towards key performance indicators and business objectives.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand KCCF, including partnerships with financial advisors, wealth management firms, and other strategic stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to attract new clients and increase awareness of our philanthropic services and offerings.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of philanthropic solutions across the organization.

Skills Qualifications

 

  • Understandings of the moral teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPA) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management, or related fields, with a proven track record of leadership and impact.
  • Deep understanding of philanthropic vehicles, including Donor-Advised Funds and complex asset contribution strategies, and experience developing and implementing philanthropic strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading and motivating teams to achieve ambitious goals and objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, able to identify opportunities for growth and innovation and drive execution towards desired outcomes.
  • A passion for serving others and making a difference
  • Strong project management skills, capable of multi-tasking; self-starter.
  • Can take complex information and translate into understandable, succinct presentations.
  • Knowledge of high-net-worth Catholic Communities.
  • Superior presentation, public speaking, and business management skills.
  • Exceptional integrity.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, mission-driven and team player
  • Possess fine balance between being a team player while capable of effective independent work.

Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location.  At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $126,100-220,500.
