Overview

Internships are for students who enroll in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.  This role will work closely with department managers and will provide support for industry and company specific research and other special projects as needed. As a KofC intern, you will work closely with department managers on a variety of projects that will promote personal and professional development.

Core Responsibilities

  • Working with department managers, undertakes assigned projects and tracks progress on projects and goals. Often includes independent research and data gathering, analysis and interpretation of said information, and developing reports and recommendations based on findings. Prepares periodic reports on status, normally on a weekly basis.
  • Acts as a flexible Ad Hoc resource to coordinate or assist in the development and/or delivery of other projects as required.
  • Builds relationships with key persons both within and outside the department to which they are assigned in order to both expedite completion of assignments and ensure that optimal business workflow and processes are in place or being developed as needed.
  •  Frequently engages assigned mentor for guidance on placement/career track, developmental opportunities, and mission alignment. 

Skills Qualifications

  • Ability to research topics, formulate and present conclusions and recommendations based upon understanding of Knights of Columbus corporate structure and strategy
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Organizational and coordination skills to support multi-tasking
  • Familiarity with the mission and identity of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Church, as well as current issues and events that affect the same (a plus)
  • Ability to speak positively regarding the efforts of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus (a plus)
  • Prior demonstrated leadership experience and academic excellence
  • Strong intellectual curiosity
  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook365
  • Google Tools
  • Independent 
  • Self-starter
  • Quick learner

Education

Currently enrolled in a undergraduate or graduate program.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday.
