Overview
The Associate Business Process Engineer is responsible for structured problem-solving by analyzing business and technical processes to formulate and develop new, improved and modified business processes and measures based on evolving and advanced digital capabilities of business systems. The Associate Business Process Engineer will work closely with business, automation, workflow, process engineer, and technology leaders to formulate and develop new and improved business models based on evolving and advanced digital capabilities of business systems as well as emerging technologies identified. The Business Process Engineer will participate in all phases of a process improvement engagements.
Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate and streamline business processes anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and eliciting requirements for change.
- Represent business process needs with business, automation, workflow, and technology teams to define User Stories/requirements and business cases to streamline or enhance processes or implement future state processes within new systems.
- Develop and utilize knowledge of business units, processes, and solutions to support business problem analysis and assist in determining the best methodology to resolve defects or issues.
- Coordinate with business, automation, workflow, and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and tool and system techniques and controls.
- Support, collaborate and facilitate cross-functional teams that will work on enterprise-wide process design and reengineering initiatives.
- Support organizational change management activities related to process redesign and improvement.
Skills Qualifications
- Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma principles, tools and methods as well as other structured problem-solving methods, data analysis, and industry tools (SIPOC, VOC, Process Mapping, Process Requirements), and process engineering methodologies.
- Communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organization.
- Ability to build consensus among and between business users and IT.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Ability to provide guidance to and effectively share knowledge with less experienced team members
- Exposure to Visio or other process modeling tools (BPMN/Case Management).
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Advanced skill in Excel including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
- Knowledge of project management, project delivery, agile methodologies, business analysis and test script/process/plan creation and execution.
- Experience with automation, workflow, and data visualization tools a plus.
- 1-3 years of Business Process Improvement and business process design.
