The Data Analyst / Assistant Trader will work as a member of the equity team and have two primary responsibilities - to assist the equity portfolio managers and analysts and to assist the head equity trader

Core Responsibilities

Data Analyst

  • Responsible for downloading or manually gathering and analyzing data in support of the equity teams security and portfolio analysis.
  • Responsible for running daily/monthly/quarterly reports and analysis for the portfolio managers and analysts.
  • Assisting the equity team with monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for consultants, clients, and prospects.
  • Assisting client service and marketing with creating and maintaining reports and data in various environments. Assistant Trader
  • Back up head trader in trading of equity and mutual fund securities for both separately management accounts (SMA) and unified managed account (UMA) programs.
  • Create and maintain all trading records and reporting, including trade rotation, best execution, process exceptions, and error resolution
  • Develop expertise in the trade order management system (Bloombergss AIM) and provide support and training as needed.
  • Trading desk responsibilities include generating broker reports and trade analysis, assisting middle office/trade operations, and communicating with outside counterparties on general trade support.
  • Provide portfolio managers with up-to-date relevant market data
  • Proactively work to collaboratively support departmental and firm-wide projects/ and initiatives.
  • Responsible for all administrative functions related to support of the trade desk and the investment team.

Skills Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables, and macros).
  • Strong software and systems experience with knowledge of Advent's APX or Bloomberg AIM is a plus.
  • Strong initiative and work ethic, and an ability to work both within a team and on a self-directed basis


  • 0-3 years of experience in operations, trading, or various aspects of the investment process.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or Economics, or equivalent education and related training.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday.
