Overview
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will solicit, understand, and document the business requirements, processes and workflows developing both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows. This position will understand business processes, effectively gathering, compiling, synthesizing and documenting requirements (via stakeholder interviews) to support our Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform (as well as other enterprise systems and technology initiatives) enhancing sustainability, and delivering maximum return on investment. The BSA also performs routine data analysis, data mapping, and data visualization. They work with the programming and architecture staff in designing solutions based on functional requirements This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions ensuring that systems are optimized to deliver maximum value across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Conducts data gathering and analysis to develop business requirements, priorities and recommended implementation timelines
- Evaluate existing business processes to anticipate needs, uncover inefficient and elicit requirements, designing/recommending technology solutions that align with business goals.
- Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders, functional and technical teams to design and configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct gap analysis between current applications and customer requirements, collaborating with Architects and Developers to assess project impact.
- Perform data mapping, cleansing, and data analysis to support solution design and decision making.
- Evaluate release notes for vendor products. Determine impact to current business processes and assist in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for enhancements and revised processes
- Prepare and deliver CRM/system demos/prototypes to business stakeholders to validate requirements, showcase capabilities and support decision making.
- Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
- Support testing activities (UAT, regression, integration) by creating test scripts, validating functionality and capturing feedback.
- Triage and analyze incidents and problems, providing clear documentation of findings, creating reports/presentations for project leadership to support strategic decisions and help assess business impact.
Skills Qualifications
Required:

- Minimum 2+ year experience working with and implementing Dynamics 365 CRM or equivalent technologies, including modules such as Sales, Service and Marketing
- Strong understanding of Customer Relationship Management processes and principles
- Ability to conduct business process analysis and translate requirements into functional specifications
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with IT development staff on complex projects, working independently and in a team environment
- Strong analytical, problem solving, data analysis and presentation skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
- Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid environments
- Knowledge of Power Platform, Power BI, and related Microsoft technologies is a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus
Education
Required:
- BS or BA with emphasis in computer science, information systems or business administration
- Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) and/or Certified Business Analysis Professions (CBAP) preferred
