Overview
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze and publish on assigned credits and investment considered for purchase. Maintain surveillance of assigned credits through evaluation of periodic financial reporting, monitoring electronic and written news sources and communication with peer group professionals, external industry analysts and corporate management. Create financial models on assigned credits and prospective investments.
- Publish update reviews on assigned watchlist credits.
- Develop an expertise in assigned industry sectors, including preparing regular industry updates.
- After fundamental review, make recommendations on specific companies to the portfolio manager with clear articulation of thesis.
- Review available offerings from brokerage community and synthesize them to find potential investments that are a good fit for the General Account or Funds. Determine relative value of purchase or sale candidates.
- Assist in execution of credit and municipal trading orders as directed by portfolio manager and senior trader. Infrequently, asset classes could be expanded to include preferred, common equities and money markets.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as directed by the portfolio manager of CIO.
Skills Qualifications
- Understanding of higher-level security and portfolio analytical concepts
- Good organizational, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work with moderate supervision
- Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, portfolio analytic software, electronic platforms like Market Access
Education
- BA or BS degree in Finance or related field
- Several years of analyzing credit, strong affinity for the capital markets Preferred:
- MBA desirable
- CFA or progress towards it desirable
Compensation
The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location. At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $69,600 - $115,000.
