Overview

The Director of Hispanic Marketing is accountable for developing a Hispanic Marketing strategy that is in service to the Knights strategic plan, its broader Marketing and Customer Experience strategy, and its broader Hispanic strategy as established by the Executive Director for Hispanic Development. An excellent writer and communicator in both English and Spanish, and deeply knowledgeable of the Catholic Church and the Hispanic Catholic market in the United States, the Director is also responsible for creating and executing multichannel marketing and communications campaigns that drive membership growth, revenue growth in the Hispanic market. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops a research-based Hispanic Marketing strategy that is in service to the Knights’ strategic plan, its broader Marketing and Customer Experience strategy, and its broader Hispanic strategy as established by the Executive Director for Hispanic Development
  • Creates and executes on English and Spanish email, direct mail and social media campaigns. 
  • Helps shape the digital experience and product offerings delivered through the Member Portal for the Hispanic audience. 
  • Reviews, curates, commissions or creates content necessary for Hispanic marketing campaigns and web experiences in both English and Spanish. 
  • Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data on the Hispanic market and the Knights engagement with said market and makes and/or recommends adjustments to strategy accordingly.
  • Reviews and corrects translated material for accuracy and comprehension
  • Occasionally translates material.

Skills Qualifications

Required: 

  • 5-7 years in a content creation and management role in Spanish and/or for a primarily Hispanic audience, including video, photography, graphic design, and copywriting
  • Knowledge of the Catholic Church and the Hispanic population in the United States
  • Advanced understanding of Social Media platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Experience managing a small team

Preferred: 

  • Past experience in creating content for Catholic organizations, for example a church, diocese, school

Education

Required:

  • B.A. in Marketing, Social Media, Communications, Film or Video production, Photography, Journalism or related fields or comparable experience
  • Advanced understanding of the Catholic faith and Catholic media landscape
  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location.  At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,400-$140,500.
