Overview

The Information Security Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's efforts to protect sensitive information, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure the overall security posture. Responsible for technical and administrative activities related to monitoring and testing the security of the Order’s computer environment.

As a key member of our Information Security team, you will be deeply involved in all aspects of security, gaining access to confidential information through privileged user accounts, audits, and other vital security initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to grow their skills and knowledge in the field of information security.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own critical processes such as phish response, ticketing, and access reviews.
  • Assist in monitoring security systems, networks, and applications to identify potential security vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security team colleagues and other IT teams to investigate and respond to security alerts, incidents, and breaches.
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and address weaknesses in our infrastructure and applications.
  • Help maintain security tools and technologies, ensuring they are up-to-date and properly configured to provide optimal protection.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines to
  • ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist in analyzing security data, generating reports, and metrics that will provide insights into the organization's security posture and potential risks.
  • Research and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and threats.
  • Provide support in creating and delivering security awareness training and educational materials to employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Skills Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong passion for information security and a willingness to learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving field. Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, along with solid organizational and time management skills Have an investigative mind and be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to operate in a confidential manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook and PowerPoint

Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location.  At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $69,600-$115,000.

Education

Required:

  • BS in Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or related Microsoft or cloud certifications.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday.
