Overview

Maintains the Bloomberg system to ensure trades flow electronically through the system without errors eventually being populated into 3rd party vendor investment accounting system. Also maintains the PAM for Mortgages system. Responsible for reconciling daily cash activity between custodian bank reports (Treasury Edge) and Clearwater Investment Accounting system. Performs monthly account reconciliations along with preparing and maintaining various control reports associated with the Investment Accounting operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintains effective controls for monitoring Straight-Through-Processing of investment securities from Bloomberg system into Clearwater Investment Accounting system. Maintains Bloomberg compliance and corrects any violations that occur with trade.
  • Manages the investment securities compliance guidelines of the Order. Updates guidelines when necessary in Bloomberg. Researches and resolves any compliance discrepancies.
  • Maintains the mortgage accounting system and performs the necessary daily requirements. Reconciles on a monthly basis, mortgage activity to general ledger.
  • Reconciles cash daily between the investment accounting system, custodian accounts, and general ledger.
  • Prepares quarterly and annual workpapers used to support the investments related financial statement close process in Workpaper Manager.
  • Prepares daily cash report for Treasury. Each month, reconciles assets within the investment accounting system/Bloomberg/ and those held at the Custodian banks.
  • Reconciles monthly pension account to outside custodian records.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, or year-end schedules, as requested by management, external auditors, and various year-end surveys.
  • Ad-hoc requests and special projects will be assigned as needed.

Education

Required:
  • BS in Accounting
  • 3-5 years insurance industry experience or equivalent combination of training and experience Preferred:
  • CPA preferred

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday.
