Overview

The Relationship Manager serves as an integral position within the Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund (KCCF) to ensure the organization continues to meet and exceed its mission to Inspire Catholics and Empower Catholic Organizations. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Philanthropic Strategy, the Relationship Manager will build and grow relationships with existing donors, encouraging generosity through KCCF’s services, and proactively initiates and nurtures new relationships with prospective donors and strategic partners. Through these relationships this position will help grow accounts, assets, contributions, and grants.  Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting the Business Development team with marketing and presentations preparation, process improvements, quality control, case management analysis, content management, and special projects. The Relationship Manger is expected to prove a high-quality service to all KCCF donors, Investment Advisor Representatives, and other strategic partners.This position will be an employee of Knights of Columbus but will report to and be accountable to KCCF.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Business Development team to build relationships with existing donors, prospective donors, and strategic partners.
  • Influence and instill trust working with donors towards generosity goals.
  • Work in partnership with Business Development team to provide philanthropic and marketing support to Investment Advisor Representatives (IARs).
  • Record and track all prospects, leads, opportunities, and other actives in CRM system.
  • Answer inbound calls and provide fulfillment support related to new accounts, contributions, and grant recommendations.
  • Provide support and act as a resource for IARs when establishing new charitable fund accounts.
  • Ensure all new accounts are opened and verify that all data is complete and accurate.
  • Ensure the timely resolution of donor, IAR, and/or strategic partner inquiries related to charitable funds.
  • Demonstrate sound business judgement in recognizing when donor issues, observed trends or service/technical issues need to be escalated to KCCF leadership or other subject-matter experts for further review and/or resolution.
  • Provide continual evaluation of process and procedures, and suggest methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service to both internal and external donors and advisors. Has knowledge of all KCCF account types, fee schedules, operating structures, and their unique characteristics to support programs.
  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills Qualifications

Required:

  • A passion for serving others and making a difference
  • Understanding and appreciation for the Catholic Faith
  • Understanding of and appreciation for the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • An ability to recognized and communicate information and new ideas in a compelling way.
  • One  to three years previous sales, relationship management, business development, business ownership, financial planning/wealth management, and/or marketing/channel development.
  • Has a positive attitude and works well with other team members to create solutions.
  • Knows how to appropriately serve, interact, and communicate with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision within a fast-paced, task-directed, deadline-oriented environment
  • Maintains sensitive and confidential information as well as business, donor, and office confidential matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (especially Excel and PowerPoint) 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of charitable, non-profit, foundation, and/or donor- related subject matters
  • Proven aptitude for "real-time" problem diagnosis and solving.
  • Previous experience serving high net worth individuals, families, and advisors preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-3 years' experience Investment experience

Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location.  At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $59,200 - 91,700
