Overview
The Sr. ERP Engineer is a lead position in the development of the organization’s ERP technologies working with both internal resources and managed third parties. The Sr. ERP Engineer will create, modify, test and develop and enhance code, forms, script, and modules of the company's ERP software solutions based on customer requirements and business specifications. This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company’s investments in ERP technologies. The Sr. ERP Engineer will collaborate with architecture, other development teams, the business community, and with third party services. This role shall contribute to strengthening the business processes, performing both technical analysis and systems support activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement quality solutions across the application landscape that are maintainable, leveraging reuse as appropriate. Act as a primary advocate for the appropriate use of development, customization, and related best practices.
- Collaborate with SAP Business Stakeholders to identify, design, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes and optimizing development processes.
- Develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to test new functionalities.
- Provide support in the areas of requirement gathering, business process mapping, solution design, data conversions, system configurations, testing, deployment, cutover coordination, training, and post go live support.
- Author functional and technical specifications at the level required for off-site technical development.
- Ensure all new developments conform to standards, and ensure the standards are kept up to date including interfacing with third party development and support on these items.
- Lead and perform technical mapping, gap analysis, and recommend the best way to address the gaps.
- Ensure the modules supported and their integration points with other systems and modules are aligned with the SAP road map.
- Participate in business case creation and estimation of work.
- Prioritize incidents and requests according to business needs.
- Recommend and implement best practices for KofC.
Skills Qualifications
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be self-motivated, and able to work independently, as well as interact well with others and communicate professionally with people at all levels.
- Must demonstrate up-to-date expertise of the SAP ERP platform including S/4HANA (Core Finance, FSCD, FPSL, Treasury), SAP Analytics Cloud (Budgeting,Planning and reporting), Access Management (GRC), and SuccessFactors (employee central, recruitment, onboarding, compensation/variable pay, performance & goal management, succession management), Benefit Focus, and Concur.
- Familiar with SAP RISE and Solution Manager
- SAP S/4HANA Implementation experience
- At least 8 years of SAP Development skills
- Programming experience in SAP S/4HANA
- Experience developing FIORI apps.
- Experience writing outbound/inbound ABAP interfaces.
- Experience with SAP Basis/Infrastructure and SAP application security
Education
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field.
- 8+ years hands on SAP ERP engineer experience.
- 8+ years IT experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills -- must be able to think critically and independently.
Preferred:
- SAP Certification
Compensation
The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location. At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $104,500 - $172,400.
